To The Editor: Not again! In the last edition of Letters to the Editor, John Mikus states that under the last “assault weapons” ban, “the number of victims killed by these weapons dropped precipitously.” The conclusion of the 2004 Koper case study of the 1994 temporary ban clearly states that even with any benefit from the ban “…there has been no discernible reduction in lethality and injuriousness of gun violence.” It is simple, anti-gun legislation has an impact only on law abiding citizens. Criminals don’t obey the law.
