To the editor: Whether elected or appointed, our leaders must respect our will and govern in our interest, not seize power, commit crimes, and rule over us. After deliberately delaying for more than six months, the MAGA Justices on our Supreme Court have not only invited Trump to get away with committing crimes but have chosen to interfere in our election on his behalf.

To the editor: There are certainly issues we all feel more strongly about than others, but to limit your valuable vote to one topic at the expense of the others is to ignore that we live in an interconnected world, where our views are varied and many of our interactions are important. As a friend said to me, even though we reside in a rural area, we don’t live in a silo but in a society.

To the editor: Alexander the Great once captured a notorious pirate and was intent on executing swift justice upon him. Before the pirate was dispatched, the two men had the following exchange: Alexander: “Now that we have caught you, are you not ashamed of the life you have led? Before you are condemned, will you ask forgiveness from all those whom you have injured.” Pirate: “I should not be punished and I do not want to be forgiven.You and I are doing the same thing.

To the editor: A recent Letter to the Editor - Trump Running Scared (Sept 6) - was very lengthy and very negative. For MAGA enthusiasts, we know the positives of voting Republican.

To the editor: Our nation is currently in major spiritual warfare between Christians and non-Christians. Numerous books have been written about this in the past half century, and a current one is entitled “America in the Balance”, by Rick Scarborough and Steve Feazel.

To the editor: It’s time for those who believe in the goodness of America to stand up and speak up to take America back…back to what? Back to the truth in God’s Word. Not a ‘feel good” gospel, but the unadulterated, inspired scripture that is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.

To the editor: If The Holy Spirit happened to update The Bible, I wonder what the book of ‘AMERICANS’ would say about the church of today? Many churches are in a mess and have strayed from Jesus Christ. If the polling is correct, most do not read their Bible daily much less join a Bible study.

To the editor: Last week’s shooting of two 14 year olds and two teachers and nine wounded in Georgia should remind voters that to vote Republican up and down the ballot this November is a vote to continue the mass shootings of our children and teachers at schools across the nation that makes death by gun the leading cause of death of our children in our country. When Republicans like Donald Trump and Texas Senator Ted Cruz only offer their “thoughts and prayers” to the grieving families on one hand and on the other hand accept huge sums of money in the form of direct contributions, Super-PAC money, and the Dark Money to fund false political attack ads to deceive voters and make incumbent lawmakers cower to stay in power, Republican lawmakers at all levels of government are choosing death instead of life for our school children.

Times, they have changed. And I’m talking since I was a mere babe in the 1940s to this new century.
