Why Did This Happen?
To The Editor:
The Letters to the Editor in the June 10 edition of the FCR were all focused on the aftermath of the Uvalde school shootings and full of opinions on what should be done to prevent future incidents. However, Craig Brestrup asked the key question: “…why so many American young men are so desperately alienated and violent…?”
I believe I can answer that question. First, it lies with the lack of parental guidance, including failure to instruct children on right and wrong; not making children accept responsibility for their actions; making excuses for a child’s unruly or disrespectful behavior. Abdicating one’s parental responsibility to the schools and not paying attention to how their children are being brainwashed to hate America and those of another race. Another contributing factor is the missing father in many households. Many young men have no one to show them how to be a good man or earn respect without relying on intimidation. They need mentors. Another major factor is that we have been too tolerant of those who ignore and defy God’s laws and teachings; Too tolerant of those who think aberrant sexual behavior should be flaunted and taught to children; Too tolerant of those who ignore the laws of nature and want the rest of us to pretend men are women and vice versa. We are also too tolerant of those who allow certain “progressive” groups to get away with breaking the laws, destroying public, private, and government property, with intimidating and threatening judges and elected officials. There has been no one held accountable for the destruction and deaths caused by the BLM, ANTIFA, and other leftist organizations over the past several years. What message does that send to those who have a potential for violence? Until America returns to God, restores His family structure, teaches our children to love and respect others, as well as themselves, and gets rid of the swamp politicians responsible for this mess with their decades of self-serving greed, power-grabbing, and tolerance of criminal acts, we cannot turn from the path of destruction we are on.
