What Our Duty Is

To the Editor:

To reply to John Mikus last week’s letter to the editor, calling me out for my previous letter, well Mr. Mikus, of course I share sadness with anyone who has had or has lost someone to Covid. I am appalled you would even ask me that. Anyone with a heart feels for these people. You should not judge people you do not know.

For the record, what does this have to do with my comments about border agents now in the hospital for being exposed to illegal immigrants with Covid? This should not ever have happened to innocent people doing their jobs. If we had a president with a backbone and who would try to adhere to our immigration laws instead of leaving our borders wide open, border agents getting Covid would probably not be happening.

And this does not account for those with other illnesses coming to our country untested, in need of medical attention. This does not account for those who are raped, those who drown, those who are murdered, all along the way trying to get into our country.

You Mr. Mikus submit scripture and write it is a Christian’s duty out of respect for life to get vaccinated. Yet you, along with our president and his party, seem to be OK with all the deaths happening with Biden’s wreckless and lawless open borders and to just look the other way and ignore the problems he has created. Have you seen the children as young as two to three years of age being dropped over fences by runners and drug cartel, just left to fend for themselves? All this going on while Barack Obama holds an open birthday party with several hundred people, none even wearing masks as I understand it.

You’ll have to do better than this Mr. Mikus.
