What I Am Thankful For

To the Editor:

I am thankful to the Bush and Obama administration for fully funding with taxpayer dollars the National Institute of Health. Their research provided the technology and knowledge that made it possible to create a COVID-19 vaccine in record time. I am thankful to the doctors, nurses, EMTs, and others who are over worked battling the coronavirus and risking their lives and health in the process. I am thankful to the Chinese Communist government who unselfishly mapped the coronavirus geno and shared it with the world by posting it on the internet.

Unfortunately we have a president who lied while people died, who said the virus was a hoax, who knew early on how dangerous it was but remained silent. He said it would end by Easter. He said hot weather would stop it. He put the dollar that he worships ahead of human death and suffering. He said we have turned the corner while death and infection are skyrocketing. Ten months later he has not provided proper PPE for the health workers. He shirked his responsibility to lead and create scientifically sound policy. He dumped responsibility on 50 state governors and said they were on their own. Just as Nero fiddled while Rome burned, Donald Loser Trump played golf and chomped down Big Macs, chocolate cake, and diet coke. Donald Trump’s failure of fiduciary duty has caused unnecessary suffering and death.

He has blood on his hands. He is a murderer.
