What Did Congress Get Done?

To the Editor:

The US Congress just finished their session and is taking off the month of August for an R&R to reconnect to their voters. At least that is what they are claiming. So, what did they accomplish during their time at work for us? Well, let’s look at a few things that stand out and should be remembered the next time we enter the voting booth.

…Every House Democrat voted to give Medicaid to illegals.

…Every Democrat voted to tax the tips and overtime of all hard-working Americans.

…Every Democrat voted to slash the child tax credit.

…Every Democrat voted to keep criminal illegal aliens in our country.

…Every Democrat voted to raise your taxes.

These votes are all on record. Oh yes, there are a few RINOs who sided with the Democrats to cloud the voting issue on many conservative issues. Amazingly, the Democrats are generally in lockstep in their voting approach. This is who they are. Evil tends to support evil. Let’s not forget who and what you’re voting for in the next election.

Having spent the last 50 years in the big city of San Antonio, we moved to Fayette County three years ago and are so pleased to know our County is over whelming conservative. Still, it puzzles me how anyone can support the Democratic Platform when they look around and see the reality of what’s going on politically around them.

It’s time for people to wake up and check out the voting records of the incumbents. Good and evil has now become more obvious, and voters need to vote based on what their person in office does, not on what they say they’re going to do. It’s not the time for the righteous to remain silent. The Bible needs to be our voting standard.
