We Are Citizens of Hope, Not Fear
To the Editor:
We are witnessing our culture, history, heroes, traditions, lifestyles and spiritual fellowships being purged from our collective memories. The very multi-ethnicity that made America so special is being weaponized to destroy us on the altar of political correctness and socialist group think. What can we do to comfort our spouses, children, friends and congregational members that run through several generations to retain their individual and corporate identities? How can we glorify the greatness of America?
Patriotic glue has held us together and integrated one ethnic group after another over 250 years. That sense of bonding is melting away. There is one action that every citizen can take.
Every one of us must embrace and openly “affirm” every American and learn from, not erase, the ups and downs of American history.
Yes, re-affirm our history, traditions, culture and accomplishments to our children, spouses, friends, warriors, government leaders and ourselves. We must turn away from the counter culture self-esteem poison ripping our great nation from its roots. Soon it could be too late. Under heaven we are not citizens of weakness but strength. We are not citizens of fear but hope.
Rise up custodians of the truth. It’s your country don’t lose it.
