Value Our Freedoms

To the editor:

No matter our color, background, or party, most Texans and Americans value our freedoms.

But Trump Republicans in office, in the judiciary, in media, and in militarized white nationalist groups want to take away freedom from all who do not look and live like them and who don’t hold their minority views and values.

From our freedom to decide if and when we grow our families to our freedom to vote in fair elections, to our freedom to let our votes decide whom we elect, to our freedom to be represented in our electoral districts, to our children’s freedom to learn the full meaning of our history to everyone’s freedom from gun violence, Trump Republicans want to overturn the will of the people and block the policies we favor.

Just as we turned out in record numbers in the last two elections, Texans and Americans must join together across race, place, and party to remove Trump Republicans from power.

We must support the January 6th Committee and the Department of Justice to hold accountable everyone involved in the criminal conspiracy to attack our country and we must vote to block from holding office anyone who tries to sabotage our elections and take our freedoms.
