Unprepared Organizer

To the Editor:

The recent article pertaining to Ronald Anderson trail ride sounded more like a disclaimer to the trail ride itself. On one hand it was once a closely-knit community of people, but somehow expanded to 7,000 people, but sold out on day one. What would one expect by advertising on social media?

The main gate being “bum rushed” indicates that organizers of this event were totally unaware of the number of people who showed up. This had all the ear markings of Woodstock. Freak accidents only happen when an unprepared organizer just lets everyone do their own thing.

In regards to the accidental shooting at a bar in La Grange did not leave a person dead. The article goes on to say decided not to shut down the bar the next day. Why would they since no one was killed. It’s like he wants to compare the two events and downplay the tragedy that unfolded at the trail ride.

I would hope that the powers that be who allowed the mass gathering to occur will remember the events of this years so-called trail ride to not give this group, or any such group to descend on Fayette County in the future.
