Relating to John Mikus’ recent letter: It wasn’t Putin’s Soviet Union that collapsed but rather Gorbachev’s in 1991, with yet another failed socialist/ communist regime. Succeeded by Yeltsin and then Putin rose to power in their 2000 election.
