Trying Times

We are in trying times with the spread of COVID-19. There is a lack of confidence in proven vaccines that have helped suppress the terrible virus. The initial rollout of the vaccine was botched from the beginning. We were told that without an 80% vaccination rate we would not achieve herd immunity. This resounded negatively to me. We are not cattle in a pasture. We are human beings in a society. Why was it not only stated that if 80% of our population were not vaccinated we would not achieve life saving results from this terrible virus? People young and old may die without fighting back to suppress this pandemic. If the vaccine were not safe and effective, we would not have over 96% of the physicians vaccinated in the U.S.

If you do have a medical condition that would not validate a vaccination, don’t do it. Do not listen to some oddball on social media. Talk to your family physician and go over the factor and decide from there.

On Sept. 10, 2021 the U.S. population of 328 million people had an increase of 176,427 new cases if COVID-19. The same day Saudi Arabia with over 34 million people reported 102 new cases of the virus. When comparing the population the Saudis should have had 18,324 new cases instead of 102. The reason for this is that Saudi Arabia has one of the strictest rules when pertaining to being vaccinated. Without being vaccinated, you can’t go anywhere in public. You are virtually cut off from the rest of the population.

What has happened to our restriction? We are going around as if nothing is going on. Now our hospitals are jammed full of COVID-19 patients that should not even be there. Other patients with life threatening issues will have to die because of apathy.

On Aug. 18, Pope Francis urged people to get vaccinated against COVID-19. If you will not listen to the pope; “Listen To Your Conscience.”
