Truth vs. Opinion

To the Editor:

It is difficult to respond to the letter by Ms. Hooper on Sept. 17. It is scary because many will read it as truth even if it is just an opinion.

The writer implies that voters do not have a right to choose who they feel will best lead our country. The writer implies that Biden has done nothing and is tanking the economy. In fact, since Biden came to office, unemployment is down, poverty is down thanks to the stimulus package, home values are up everywhere, more folks have medical care, and the Dow is up 5,000 points. What part of the economy is tanking?

I do love the quote, referred to by the writer, “Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth.” by Albert Einstein. To blindly support a former president who still lies about who won the election even when it has been proven to be untrue by Democrats and Republicans is the epitome of blind belief.

These over statements and untruths can provoke violence, in which case writers pushing lies will be the ones guilty of having “blood on their hands.”
