Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Arrest, LGPD Responds to Theft Reports
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of April 18-25.
Possession of Marijuana
On April 24, Wostarek conducted a traffic stop in the 2500 block of N. Jefferson. Subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
Theft
On April 21, Emmons responded to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where complainant advised a tow rope was stolen from the bed of her vehicle.
On April 22, Zwahr took information for a report of stolen bikes in the 200 block of E. Guadalupe.
On April 24, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of Highway 159 in regard to theft.
Assault
On April 21, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of an assault in the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer arrived and took report.
On April 22, Mohr received a call of an assault in the 2300 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer arrived and took information.
Animal Complaint
On April 21, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager checked on barking dogs in the 700 block of E. Walnut. Owner of dogs advised they would take care of the barking.
On April 22, Ahlschlager checked on a buzzard in the 400 block of S. Jackson.
On April 22, Ahlschlager put two dogs back in their yard in the 600 block of S. College. Owner of dogs advised he would take care of them.
Accident
On April 23, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 500 block of Jefferson where a caller stated that a vehicle came off of a trailer and went into someone’s yard causing property damage. Officer gathered the subject’s information and completed an accident report.
On April 24, Meinardus responded to the 1900 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass where caller advised that a blue SUV rolled over at that location. Officer took information.
Civil Matter
On April 22, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 1000 block of Lane Pool where complainant advised the officer that his wife will not return home.
On April 24, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a civil matter.
Criminal Mischief
On April 23, Mohr responded to the 600 block of N. Madison to a call of a female breaking out windows in a house. Officer arrived and took report.
On April 24, Patrolman Cari Haman received information about an incident in the 400 block of W. Fairgrounds involving property damage.
Driving While Intoxicated
On April 22, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 200 block of E. Travis where complainant advised of a possibly intoxicated driver. Officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
Disturbance
On April 20, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where a customer brought in a service dog and was questioned by management. Customer got irate and purchased his items and left the store.
On April 22, Mohr received a call of two male subjects arguing in the 900 block of S. Washington.
On April 23, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison and checked on a possible disturbance.
Parking Violation
On April 18, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a vehicle parking in a parking lot in the 400 block of N. Jefferson, which is marked for employees only.
On April 18, Anderson received a call in regard to a parking complaint in the 800 block of N. Madison.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On April 18, Mohr received a call from a complainant in the 600 block of N. Jefferson who advised there was a subject at the residence that was no longer wanted at the residence. Subject had already left upon officer’s arrival.
On April 21, Patrolman Kevin Currington checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of W. Colorado.
On April 22, Zwahr responded to the 800 block of E. Travis to a call of an abandoned vehicle.
On April 23, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of E. Upperline in regard to a suspicious vehicle. One subject was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Trespassing
On April 21, Gilbreath re sponded to the 1000 block of E. Travis where complainant reported that neighbors are driving in their vacant lot and throwing trash on the property.
Welfare Check
On April 19, Anderson received a call in regard to a welfare concern in the 200 block of W. Guadalupe.
On April 24, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Camp in regard to a welfare check.
On April 24, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1000 block of Highway 159 in regard to a welfare check. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject and he stated that he was fine and was taking a nap.
Warrant Arrest
On April 19, Emmons arrested an individual in the 200 block of N. Main for violation of probation.
Miscellaneous
On April 20, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of Wood Hollow for a subject revving his motorcycle engine. Officer spoke to subject who advised he was working on his motorcycle and would stop for the night.
On April 22, Zwahr spoke with a subject in the 700 block of Eckel in regard to an item left at the property.
On April 22, Gilbreath responded to the 1100 block of Baumback where complainant received vulgar text messages.
On April 22, Gilbreath responded to the 2200 block of Edgewood where complainant reported she was being harassed.
On April 22, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of Northwest Circle for possible narcotics consumption. Officer checked vehicle and no narcotics were located.
On April 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Ellinger in regard to loud music. Officer was unable to locate any loud music.
