Tough at the Top

To the Editor:

With thanks to the leadership of Mayor Janet Moerbe, La Grange is following the leadership of science and medical experts. Her courageous vote for mask wearing, in order to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, challenges the political atmosphere of “making our own decisions.”

For the sake of doctors and nurses who care for COVID patients, first responders who continue necessary services, school teachers who are considering the risks of “in-person” instruction, and anyone whose livelihood is threatened by the spread of the coronavirus, all precautions need to be in place. Thank goodness that common sense, and not political ego, is holding tough at the top.
