Tired, Old Talking Points
To the editor:
For the most part, Eric Greens’ last week’s letter was directed towards me. He either had too much time on his hands or I previously touched a nerve from a prior letter that I wrote. He did not mention which letter so I will address best as I can, just a couple of the items he used for attack.
I have written these letters for years. I research either government sites or use a reputable news source. I do not even watch fake news networks like CNN, ABC, CBS who have shown they are quite biased. I can also state that I do not recall one thing I have ever written for years that has been false and where I had to backtrack. But Democrats love to say things, like we’re all going to lose our social security when Trump obtained office and that has not yet happened, has it?
I would suggest to you Mr. Green that you ‘not’ get your facts off plain old social media as you suggested I do. Half of the stuff out there these days is probably not true, like so much of the fake news.
I think on this issue, I speak for most conservatives and that is we are ‘sick to death’ of the Democrats using the phrase that the Trump administration “ripped children from their parents.” That talking point is getting very old, and just used for theatrics. They were no more ripped than over 300,00 children who were lost in the system and given to who knows whom under Biden and Harris. I understand many illegals crossing over pretended to be the parents of some of these children when they were not. I learned many were separated until this could be checked. Yet now they are lost and or probably used in sex and drug trafficking. Thankfully, slowly but surely the Trump administration is finding these young, lost and abused souls.
So am I to think that American born children are also ‘ripped from their parents’ when their parents break the law and have to go to jail? Remember Mr. Green, Biden and Harris caused this problem, Trump is trying to clean it up.
Speaking of drugs, I have never stated that illegals have come across with drugs on them. I have for years put that issue on the cartel. Please be careful on how you define what I write. Along with that, yes, facts have shown that with literally thousands of illegals coming across the borders most days, there was no way they could be properly vetted. It is common sense if nothing else.
Another common sense issue here, but Mr. Green stated undocumented (illegal) immigrants have lower incarceration rates for violent crimes than US citizens. Well goodness, Mr. Green, might that be because there are reported somewhere between 30-50 million illegal immigrants, verses 340 plus million legal citizens that live in the US. Of course there will be more crimes by US citizens, just due to the numbers.
And isn’t it sad that liberals could never say thank you to President Trump for bringing murder rates to the lowest they have been in over 100 years. It’s kind of like the Democrats not standing for US citizens over illegal aliens during the recent state of the union address, as shown on TV. Fact.
You do not know me Mr. Green, and I think it very shameful to suggest I am dishonest. It is also very wrong, to say the least. I suggest that we all be very careful in defining another’s character. Maybe you should heed, live and write by your own words. To spread misinformation is a disservice, and honesty, reliability and facts matter.
