Time of the Essence to Stop the Pollution Monitoring Change

As a reminder, the LCRA Fayette Power Plant has asked to relax the pollution monitoring requirements, change discharge limits, and change the regulatory rainfall standard that affects drainage design. A call to TCEQ about having a public hearing about this revealed that: 1. There needs to be more public interest in the application or 2. A state legislator needs to request a public hearing. So, I called Representative Stan Kitzman’s office since I found out that he submitted a request for a hearing on Oct. 14 and then withdrew the request on Oct. 30. I wanted to know why ... no clear answer there. But I did find out that since the deadline for a hearing is Dec. 4 there would not be enough time to schedule one. What?
