There Is No Third Way

To the editor:

Our Creator God and His Son Jesus, the Word made flesh, are the Source of righteousness and love and sound thinking (i.e. “morality”). The Bible, inspired by the Spirit of God, codifies the morality of the Living God so that we, made in His image, can access and practice it. God’s Word is therefore not the “source of morality,” but rather the image of Godly morality.

Bible co-author James, brother of Jesus, inspired of the Holy Spirit, wrote about two sources of wisdom. Wisdom from above is “pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” Wisdom not from above is “earthly, unspiritual, demonic,” the fruit of which is “disorder and every vile practice.”

Around these two sources of wisdom -- heavenly and earthly -- world views are formed. Mr. Balch’s lengthy article denying God’s Word as our prime moral guide is merely an expression of a worldview informed by earthly, unspiritual “wisdom.” Reader, review recent recorded history and ask yourself how men ruling their affairs without God, Christ, Spirit and Word -- the calm paradise Balch without support suggests is natural to humanity -- has actually worked out. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, the accomplished and intended destruction of nations at the hands of the Iranian mullahs, murderous antisemitism, murdering and mutilating children in the womb and after birth in the name of “health care,” rioting against law enforcement, using airliners to commit murder in the name of a false god, and I could go on... Does the godless paradise of the progressive democrat sound “pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason”? Or does it appear as “disorder and every vile practice”?

Founding father John Adams famously said: “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” The upcoming midterm elections are not so much a choice between this or that personality; rather, the midterms represent a choice between the right’s Godly worldview, or the left’s “earthly, unspiritual, demonic” one. Christian, which will you choose? There is no third way. Vote.
