Support St. Mark’s?

To the Editor:

Each few weeks seem to bring new examples of how St. Mark’s Medical Center’s leadership is completely inept or willfully corrupt. After an excellent set of pieces detailing St. Mark’s finances, 2023 has seen leadership take misstep after misstep with minimal (if any) community engagement. From the shocking news of their decision to transition to a Rural Emergency Hospital and now a questionable loan taken out for half what the land was worth, I find it hard how anyone in Fayette County could continue to support St. Mark’s Medical Center.
