Subject Arrested for Public Intoxication After Calling Police
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 8-15.
Public Intoxication
On Nov. 9, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 100 block of E. Colorado where caller stated that he was walking and people were following him. Officer spoke to the subject who was in the street and appeared to be intoxicated. Officer arrested subject and transported him to the Fayette County Jail.
Alarm
On Nov. 10, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Jefferson in regard to an alarm. Officer arrived on location and found the building to be secure.
Assault by Threat
On Nov. 8, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 800 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a subject that was being threatened. It was determined that the subject was not being threatened and was under the influence of drugs.
On Nov. 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of W. Travis in regard to threats. Complainant stated that a male subject threatened her.
Animal Complaint
On Nov. 12, Maxwell responded to the 400 block of E. Travis where caller advised a small dog inside a truck with one window barely cracked. Officer located the truck and dog was fine.
On Nov. 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis in regard to an animal complaint
Agency Assist
On Nov. 14, Patrolman Kevin Currington responded to One St. Mark’s Place to stand by at the emergency room. A subject was being difficult but did calm down.
On Nov. 14, Patrolman David Mohr received a call to assist the fire department with a smell of gas in a house in the 500 block of S. Madison. The fire department could not find any gas odor.
Accident
On Nov. 10, Currington was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place to an accident The accident was between a deer and an automobile. The deer was moved off the highway and officer advised the driver to report to his insurance company.
On Nov. 13, Wostarek responded to the 100 block of S. Main for a minor accident
On Nov. 14, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Jefferson for a minor traffic accident
On Nov 14, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of W. Lower Line for a minor accident
Civil Matter
On Nov. 10, Mohr received a call from a complainant about an injury to a cat and neighbors staring at them in the 400 block of W. Colorado. Officer spoke with both
On Nov. 10, Currington responded to the 700 block of N. Eckel and spoke with a subject about a civil matter.
On Nov. 11, Maxwell spoke with a subject in the 300 block of E. Live Oak about a civil matter.
On Nov. 14, Mohr received a call of one neighbor throwing limbs into the other neighbor’s yard in the 600 block of S. College.
Criminal Mischief
On Nov. 9, Wostarek responded to the 100 block of Northwest Circle where caller stated that their tires on their vehicle had been cut.
On Nov. 10, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 200 block of E. Travis where complainant advised unknown suspects entered the victims truck by punching out the door lock and damaged the ignition.
Harassment
On Nov. 10, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of Koening Lane where caller stated that she was being harassed. Officer spoke with both parties involved and they stated they would stop talking to each other.
Suspicious PersonNehicle
On Nov. 8, Meinardus was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Pecan where caller stated that her daughter believed she saw an individual standing outside of their home. Officer checked the area but did not find
On Nov. 9, Currington was dispatched to the 2400 block of Highway 71 West for a suspicious subject. Officer made contact with subject and he was clear of any warrants and was just resting.
On Nov. 9, Meinardus responded to the 800 block of N. Jefferson where caller stated that he heard people outside. Officer spoke to the owner of the residence who stated that she wanted the caller out of her home because he was causing problems. Officer asked the subject to leave and he did.
On Nov. 10, Currington was dispatched to One St Mark’s Place for a suspicious loud subject at the emergency room that had been discharged. Officer spoke with subject and he calmed down. Subject got a ride to come him
On Nov. 10, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Travis in regard to a suspicious person. Officer arrived on location and searched the area. Officer was unable to locate anyone in the area.
On Nov. 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Pearl in regard to a suspicious vehicle. Caller stated the vehicle was a Ford Expedition black in color. Officer searched the area but was unable to locate a vehicle matching that description.
On Nov. 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Jefferson for a suspicious circumstance. Caller stated that a male subject was behind her back yard. Caller stated that the subject took off on foot and left in a white truck. Officer searched the location but was unable to locate.
On Nov. 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Pearl for a suspicious vehicle parked at the yield sign at Pearl then moved to Upperline. Officer searched the area but was unable to locate.
Trespassing
On Nov. 9, Chief Gilbreath responded to the 700 block of E. Guadalupe where complainant reported that subjects were hanging out on her property and she didn’t want them on her property.
On Nov. 9, Gilbreath responded to the 600 block of E. Eblin where complainant wanted to keep subject off her property.
On Nov. 11, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in reference to the caller saying someone robbed him. The caller’s information was unfounded and the caller refused to leave the property. The caller was arrested for criminal trespass.
Terroristic Threat
On Nov. 9, Mohr received a call of a threat in the 200 block of E. Colorado. Officer took report.
Theft
On Nov. 11, Maxwell responded to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe in regard to a lawn mower that was taken without his permission.
Verbal Dispute
On Nov. 9, Wostarek was dispatched to a disturbance in the 900 block of E. Camp. Officer arrived on location and spoke with both parties. Parties were separated for the night after speaking with officer.
Welfare Check
On Nov. 10, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis in regard to a welfare check.
On Nov. 11, Maxwell was dispatched to the River Bridge on Highway 77 in regard to a welfare check. Officer made contact with subject and subject advised all was fine.
On Nov. 12, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Pearl in regard to a welfare check. Officer was unable to make contact
On Nov. 14, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1000 block of Sunset Lane in regard to a welfare check.
Miscellaneous
On Nov. 9, Meinardus was patrolling in the 900 block of S. Vail when he found the dumpster located in the softball field parking lot on fire. Officer notified dispatch and the fire department and the fire was out
On Nov. 12 A caller in the 100 block of W Travis advised Maxwell that he found cleaning supplies to clean windows and it wasn’t his.
On Nov. 13, Mohr received a call of found property in the 400 block of N. Main. Officer took lost property back to the owner.
On Nov. 14, Mohr received a call of a possible missing person in the 500 block of Logan.
On Nov. 14, Mohr received a call of a verbal argument in the 900 block of E. Travis. Officer arrived and business owner wanted a criminal trespass warning issued.
