St. Mark’s Medical Center Community Celebration
To the Editor:
As a fairly new resident of La Grange and Fayette County, I’ve already seen here in seven months what seem like both the worst of times and the best of times. And through it all — a pandemic, mass vaccination events, a weather and utility emergency, and a community that helps its own, I believe we have a lot to be thankful.
It is with that spirit that St. Mark’s Medical Center (SMMC) invites you to a Welcome Back Community Celebration on the St. Mark’s Medical Center campus lawn, One St. Mark’s Place, La Grange, on Tuesday, May 11, at 5:30 p.m. We will have a brief program recognizing our healthcare heroes and a few others who have helped shape the current environment at SMMC, and end with what we’d like to see as a new tradition at our facility — Blessing of the Hands.
In many communities, a non-denominational blessing of the hands is done to recognize those who use their hands to provide care in their work in supporting the health care needs of our community.
Please join us on the SMMC lawn for this important event. We’ll have a tent to shield guests from the sun, chairs for those who need to sit — feel free to bring your own, and light refreshments immediately following the brief program.
We look forward to seeing you on May 11 at 5:30 p.m.
