Speaker Invite a Betrayal

To The Editor:It is unconscionable that any political party or subgroup of a political party, major or minor, would have as a guest speaker an individual who participated in the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol building. What was attacked that day was one of the most important principles of our representative republic, the peaceful transfer of power. To have as a speaker someone who attempts to minimize and deflect the impact he himselfand others had that day, betrays the very ideals of our nation.
