Pam Sheffield and her family recently took a trip to Kentucky to visit Noah’s Ark and the Creation Museum. Along for the trip were Allison and Dawson Williford and Sarah and Grey Holland with their kids, Hayley and Benjamin. It was the first time for Hayley and Benjamin to fly on an airplane and they loved it.

The Ark is an amazing replica of what Noah built when God told him to do so in Genesis. The family had a great time exploring the multilevel decks on the ship with statues of Noah’s family, sometimes automated and speaking about what they were doing. There were lots of animal cages, with some of them making sounds as they might have done back then. Even a dinosaur roared.

Pam and family were able to attend an informative talk by Ken Ham, the founder of the Ark and the Creation Museum. Another fun activity they enjoyed was a virtual “Reality Truth Traveler” that transported them back to the time of Noah to witness the construction of the ark and see all the birds and animals along the way. Lots of screams were heard on that adventure.

The next day, they visited the Creation Museum and saw a lot of automated dinosaurs with plenty of activities about God’s creation of the earth to discover. It was a fun-filled adventure with lots of memories which the family will always remember.

Out And About

Kathy Chlumsky slipped off to Cedar Park to meet daughters, Summer Smith and Jennifer Dong, at Dino Park. All the grandkids enjoyed spotting the dinosaurs on the trail and enjoyed some playtime together. Afterwards, they headed to Bastrop for lunch by the river. Little Marcus is not quite old enough to have joined his sister, Olivia, and cousins, Conner and Hunter, exploring the river’s edge and running up and down the big hill. The weather was beautiful and everyone enjoyed a day of family visiting and fun.

Antoinette and Chris Joplin recently enjoyed a visit from Bob Dull of Houston. Bob drove down to enjoy a Sunday in the country and catch up with his friends.

Martin and Nancy Cherry took off on Tuesday evening to go see the Trail of Lights in Austin. They booked a slot and got to drive through the trail. This is the first time they have gone through the Trail of Lights, even though they used to live in Austin. They had never taken time to go and experience this annual Christmas event. The report is that it is worth the effort and was very beautiful, even with the wait in line.

Weather

Muldoon had some cooler mornings, but in the afternoon it has warmed up to the upper 70s. No rain has fallen this week at the time of this writing, and things are once again starting to look dry.

Neighborhood Watch

Be sure and keep an eye out for your neighbors. Not only to what may be happening on their property, but also call and make sure they are doing OK. During these crazy times of COVID-19, we all need to pull together and take care of each other if we can. Your neighbors, especially the older ones, may need someone to pick up their groceries for them or might be in need of a friendly voice.

Muldoon is a small community and it takes everyone to keep it safe. Report strange or out of place happenings.
