Sameness vs. Unity

To the editor:

I would like to ask Ms. Reid what is ‘the big lie’ she refers to in last week’s letter?

I have gotten confused by the ‘Steele dossier,’ the ‘Russian collusion’ fiasco, and all the other false accusations and lies created by and promoted by Democrats in the past four years to block Trump’s agenda and get him out of the White House. The fact that they succeeded is only a testimony to their divisiveness.

As early as March 2021, it was evident by the published list of Biden’s Executive Orders, Memorandums, and Actions (all 69 of them), Biden has no intention of delivering on his promise to unify.

A respectable newsletter reported in April 2021, President Joe Biden called for unity and respect on day one in office. However, “He hasn’t delivered. Biden and the Democratic Party have done nothing but sow more distrust, disdain, and division—because that’s the inevitable result of their anti-American “woke” worldview – the woke worldview can only divide America because it denies the principles at our country’s core.

I wonder if JFK would recognize today’s Democrat Party? It is evident to me that the current President has neglected his responsibility to uphold the Constitution of the United States on several fronts: by telling Congress to “enact Major restrictions on Constitutionally protected second amendment rights,” by asking Congress to grant legal status to 11 million illegal migrants; by creating a commission to change the Supreme Court, by proposing a jobs plan that “contains $2.25 trillion in new spending, $400 billion in tax credits, and $2.27 trillion in tax increases with a radical ideology that rejects free enterprise and basic economics, gambling that the government is a primary driver of growth,” by allowing physicians and health care workers to be threatened with loss of their jobs and licensure if they refuse to comply with vaccine mandates, by allowing demonization of proven COVID-19 therapies, by redirecting funds allocated by Congress to the protection of American land and citizens against invasion of foreign nationals, and the list goes on.

I would remind Ms. Reid that compliance with mandated activity, such as getting a vaccine, might result in sameness but it does not unify. Sameness and unity are very different concepts.
