Republican Primaries
To the Editor:
The Republican Primary Election for our Fayette County Judge was encouraging with good candidates respectfully vying for the position. Not so for the House District 85 Republican Primary. Note that the winner of that mud fight does not change the vote count on any substantive state issue in the future. They are Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. However, the winner, Goose Geesaman, was alarming.
Goose accused Stan Kitzman of being a RINO for having ethical standards and voting to impeach our Attorney General, Paxton the Corrupt, who is the swamp in Austin. Goose claims that impeaching the most corrupt AG in the history of the State of Texas was “Voting with Democrats.”
In the vote to hold Paxton the Corrupt accountable, 72.3% of Republicans voted to impeach and obviously Stan voted WITH Republicans. (The overall vote was 121 to 23). Friends, today’s Republican Party does not have a RINO problem, it has LIVR, PINO and CINO problems.
LIVR: Low Information Voting Republicans PINO: Patriots in Name Only CINO: Christians in Name Only LIVRs are easily worked to a frenzy over fake issues like “Sharia Law” and miss the big picture. Goose was upset because Stan, like the rest of the House, supported a legislative proclamation concerning good wishes for Muslims during their holidays. In 2025, the Texas House issued Resolution No. 36 stating that they “…hereby recognize Eid al-Fitr 2025 and extend to Muslims of Texas and across the globe sincere best wishes for a joyous and meaningful observance.” (And yes, two of our legislators are Muslims.) This polite recognition for Muslims passed with general consensus of both Republicans and Democrats, but Goose thinks being nice and polite is “Voting with Democrats”.
Like the reminder to “Drive Friendly,” it is Christian to Vote Friendly and poor form to vote for the corrupt who use our Constitution and biblical moral and ethical values as toilet tissue. Is it possible for Republicans to police their own?
“Tolerance of serious wrong by leaders sears the conscience of the culture, spawns unrestrained immorality and lawlessness in the society, and surely results in God’s judgment.” - Southern Baptist Convention, June 1998
