The La Grange Leopards pushed across two runs with two out in the final inning against the Brenham Cubs at Nelson Field in Austin to win the Class AAA state baseball championship, 3 to 1. The victory climaxed a 21-4 season for the base-running, slick-fielding charges of Coach Leonard May and his assistant Bill Ruskin.
