Put People Ahead of Personal Promotion When You Vote

To the editor:

So, we see that the Republicans in Washington DC, didn’t see a need to explore the recent attempt by some of their constituents to stop the electoral vote on January 6. The destruction of public property, and theft at this countries sacred ground was not important enough. Maybe they thought it was some other outside instigators, that would have been enough reason in its self to investigate. But I think they just didn’t want the truth to be confirmed. Then your local Republican Governor thinks that docking the pay of legislators that use a simple measure to stop a vote by leaving the premises is outrageous, the exact same maneuver that Republicans used to stop the vote on the bill investigating the January 6 trashing of the capitol in Washington DC, pure hypocrisy. Maybe the Democratic legislators instead should have charged the podium and destroyed the Texas capitol grounds to stop the vote. Seems that the extreme faction of the present day Republican Party believes only violence, and intimidation is the way to enact legislation here in Texas and the country. The last time I wrote the editor, I suggested people start looking carefully at who they vote for. I hope that in the future we can start seeing more true conservatives, who have the best interest of the people, instead of personal promotion.
