Praising Highway Repairs Finished on Time

To the editor:

Yes, it was terrible trying to get to the Dairy Queen.

No, it wasn’t easy to get to the Bugle Boy either.

But getting US 77 through town open in time for the Fair was terrific.

TxDOT and its contractor (Hunter Industries, I believe) deserve some serious thanks for finishing up the road work this past week. I really didn’t believe it when they said it would be open in time for the Fair, but on Thursday, sure enough: it was.

Thanks, guys. And the smooth roadway and freshly painted stripes make driving up the hill a real pleasure.
