Praise for Abortion Stance

To the Editor:

The I am proud of Kerina Kelly for her courage in submitting her essay titled Abortion is Murder for publication in the Record. Although it is very difficult to read, and my heart was breaking as I read it, Kerina has done a valuable service to folks who do not really understand what happens to the fetus during an abortion.

Abortion clinics make reference only to “the procedure,” and the fetus is referred to as “the tissue” or the “pregnancy remains.” They appear only to be concerned with the pregnant woman. While the pregnant woman’s health is a consideration, she makes the choice to have an abortion. The baby has no choice in the matter.

In response to the letter from Patty Reid, she is correct in that the descriptions in the essay are gruesome. An abortion is gruesome. Murder is gruesome.

I researched what happens to the fetus in a website www. prolifemichiana.org. In the section titled “Abortion Hurts the Aborted Baby,” the descriptions there are gruesome as well and painful to read. However, this is not a website that “targets vulnerable, young people and bombards them with misleading and hateful rhetoric about abortion.” Factual information is there for anyone who wants to know what happens to a baby during an abortion.

Abortion is murder. That fact is plain and simple.
