Pam Sheffield enjoyed a weekend of family fun and activity. Daughter, Sarah, son-in-law, Grey, and grandchildren, Hayley and Benjamin, drove out from Spring to spend the entire weekend with Pam and get a few things done around the place.

First on their agenda was installing new LED lights on the outside of Pam’s carport, along with new electrical wiring and new plugs. Then they installed new outdoor dusk to dawn lighting to help Pam see where she’s walking at night. While Pam and Grey did some rearranging of stuff, Sarah and the kids went to get lunch from Sonic.

Then in the afternoon, neighbors Pam and Ron Knotts came over to pick up some items to help make more room for Pam. Meanwhile, Grey took the kids riding around to check out the neighborhood. Then Grey took Sarah for a sunset ride around the place to take pictures and enjoy the nice weather. They also did a little fishing in the pond and even caught a few fish. Overall, everyone had a great weekend.

Antoinette and Chris Joplin enjoyed having some friends from Houston visit. Lois Vinson and her granddaughter, Christina Prouse, came out to visit and to bring Christina’s now-retired show goat, Marty, out to live on the farm. They all enjoyed visiting and watching Marty figure out the big guard dogs, who were bigger than he is.

Devon Boehnke took off with his daughter, April Pospisil, for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to attend the funeral of the mother of Devon’s son-in-law, Jack Field. While there, Devon got to hold his only great-granddaughter, Abigail Shaddock of Dallas, for the very first time. Abigail is the daughter of Grace and Todd Shaddock.

Dana and Darrell Kulak enjoyed a short visit from their daughter, Cynthia Kulak. Cynthia came in from her job in Austin to check on her family.

Jennifer and Clay Rightmer travelled to Waco to visit with their daughter, Lane Rightmer, who is teaching at Baylor University this fall, and watch the football game with her.

My sister and her husband, Jan and Jarvis Anderson, drove through last week on the way to Houston, and James and I were able to meet up with them and wish Jan a happy birthday.

Weather

Muldoon has been having some beautiful fall days with cool mornings and pleasant afternoons. One morning, there even was a small shower; a few hundredths of an inch fell. Fall has finally made an appearance in the area.

Lending Library

The selection at the Little Lending Library in front of the fire station, located across the tracks from the Old Stone Store, is available any time. Just drop by and select a book or drop off a book. This is such a wonderful resource for our community. There have been a wide selection and it’s changing all the time as people borrow and bring books to leave. If you are looking for something to read, take time to stop and check it out. It’s a source that is sometimes forgotten and can be enjoyed by everyone.
