Opinions Neither Right or Wrong
To the editor:
I was not aware that questions and opinions had to be unambiguous, that proof must be submitted and that facts are required to be shown. Mea Culpa, and this in the opinion section of the FCR in the letters to the editor portion?
Maybe it is time to let folks know that opinions are neither right nor wrong.
I suggest that by far the majority of letters published here are essentially opinions; facts and proofs can be secured from a variety of websites and can favor either side of an argument depending on the tastes of the author.
These “proofs and facts” in letters to the editor are generally meant to justify the writers position or persuade readers that its position is absolutely correct and they should agree.
And to Sandy Cooper: “you must be a ‘Republican’ as only ‘Republicans’ make ambiguous and unfounded statements without providing any proof or facts.” (See letter of Nov. 21, 2025 and what a really silly statement.)
So in the final analysis, we read the various opinions and “proofs and facts” from the multitude of experts and then make up our mind as to what we think is closer to the truth; but it is still only sometimes do we get the truth and even less of the time do we get the whole truth and very, very seldom do we get the whole truth and nothing but the truth..
And with AI even simple truth is getting harder to be sure of.
Finally, these statements are simply my opinion and contain no facts or proofs.
