Observations on Democrats and the State of the Union
To the Editor:
Several things I’ve observed during and since President Trump’s State of the Union address.
Only one or two Democratic representatives stood in response to President Trump’s State of the Union address when he made the comment “The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens”? He asked them to stand if they agreed. Clearly, the Democratic party, who are elected by American citizens who pay their salaries, couldn’t care less about the citizens who elect them. After the address Representative Janelle Bynum (D-Ore.) was asked about the statement. She stated, “it was racist and uncomfortable when President Trump asked to stand for American citizens.” How is its racist and uncomfortable for elected representatives of the citizens of America to be asked to stand to protect them above all else?
Last week a college student in Chicago was brutally murdered. Her name was Sheridan Gorman, and she was just 18. No need to guess who killed her…yep, an illegal Venezuelan alien. This illegal alien had been cut loose twice under the Biden administration. While this incident is beyond tragic, here’s what’s even more pathetic but not unexpected of Democrats.A progressive alderwoman named Maria Hadden from Chicago posted a video suggesting Gorman was in the “wrong place at the wrong time” and that she may have “startled” the individual who shot and killed her. The fact is when Sheridan tried to run away, that piece of garbage shot her in the back of the head. She died at the scene.
In true Democratic fashion, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker’s office, claimed that the Trump administration is politicizing Gorman’s death. He said “our thoughts are with the family, friends, and Loyola University community grieving the senseless murder of Sheridan Gorman. Violent crime has no place in our streets, and we expect the alleged perpetrator to be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. The TrumpAdministration needs to stop politicizing heinous tragedies and instead focus on real solutions, like reinstating federal funds to prevent violence that support our public safety efforts.”
If JB really believed “violent crime has no place in our streets” he wouldn’t allow illegal aliens or sanctuary cities in his State. JB’s main responsibility is to protect the American citizens who elected him by obeying and enforcing the laws of the United States. He doesn’t give a damn about the American citizens in his State. An important note – Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. So how did this illegal alien killer get a gun? Oh that’s right, blue cities infringe on Americans’ constitutional right to carry to protect themselves, but the same cities don’t give a second thought to illegal aliens having guns. President Trump needs to continue to shed light on the ineffective, and quite frankly, the deliberate sanctuary city policies of liberal cities, run by liberal Democrats who don’t care about American citizens and prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens every single time.
Then there is the Asian American’s Advancing Justice group who said “President Trump’s speech attempted to deceive the public and ask us to buy that our state of the union is strong when the reality is the past year of his regime has been marked with cruelty, violence and chaos. The Administration is trying to recast this country to align with their racist vision and normalize viewpoints that are unacceptable to the majority of Americans.” Blah blah blah. I will make a correction to their comments though. The reality is and what’s unacceptable to the majority of Americans, is the murder, crime, drain on resources, and billions of dollars being spent on people who have no right to be in this country.
Note: in two Democratic comments the word racist was used. Here’s a fact…it is not racist to disagree with a point or argument someone makes; it is not racist to ask elected representatives to stand for American citizens; it’s not racist to call out Democrats who don’t’ give a damn about the American people. But for the Democrats, it’s the only play they have. They literally have nothing to offer the American people except hate, discourse, and lies.
Now my personal favorite commentary from Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy from 2024. Mr. Murphy is considering running for President in 2028. MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked Murphy in 2024 about negotiations between Democrats and Republicans happening at the time about a border security bill. Hayes pressed Murphy on why Democrats were pushing to get funding for Ukraine instead of pushing for a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, as the party had done in the past. “Well, I mean, Chris, that’s been a failed play for 20 years,” Murphy replied. “So you are right that that has been the Democratic strategy for 30 years, maybe, and it has failed to deliver for the people we care about most, the undocumented Americans that are in this country.”
Wow, he actually said it… the truth the rest of the country already knew; that Democrats only care about illegal aliens. And Mr. Murphy…not undocumented Americans; undocumented illegal aliens.
This is the Democratic party. Blame falls directly on them for every single incident; every single death. They’ve made it clear that American citizens don’t come first in this country. They will continue to put illegal aliens above the American people and continue to stand by and allow the deaths of innocent Americans.
