Not a Protest

To the Editor:

In a recent issue of The Fayette County Record photos were published of what was described as protests in the Sept. 26, 2025 issue of the paper. This is inaccurate.

A group of individuals from the Fayette County Republican Party spent that morning honoring and paying tribute to Charlie Kirk who was assassinated exercising his first amendment right to free speech. This was no protest. It was a fitting tribute in remembrance of a brave soul. The group was warmly received with thumbs-up, honking horns, and enthusiastic smiles and waves.

Of course there were a few dissenters but that was to be expected. The only protest I witnessed were the usual Saturday smattering of anti-Trumpsters with their signage.
