Patrick Henry was a white man, a colonist, who wished to be fee from slavery to the British Empire. The freedom he wanted was just that, for him death was better than slavery to the British Empire.
The Revolutionary war was a war of freedom from British slavery. Enabled by God, the colonists were able to free themselves.
