No Biden Remorse

To the Editor:

I am, first, going to address the question that Ms. Frank posed at the end of her letter last week.– “For those who voted for Joe Biden, are you feeling buyer’s remorse?”

The answer for a majority of American people is “No.” President Biden’s approval rate is 63%.

71% approve of his handling of the pandemic, including 47% of Republicans. 54% of the country believe we are on the right track, after the disastrous missteps of the previous administration. Addressing her “alternative facts: 1. Loss of pipeline jobs- Frank states that 11,000 jobs were lost when President Biden halted the Keystone XL Pipeline. Truth- there is no evidence that proves this. The exact number of jobs or employment opportunities that were only planned for remains unknown.

2. Frank says that President Biden caused the humanitarian disaster at our Southern border. Truth- the Southern border between Texas & Mexico has needed a viable solution for years through many administrations from Reagan, George H. Bush, Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama, Trump. Biden inherited it, he did not create it. We now have a president with the empathy to examine & implement a viable solution. This cannot happen overnight.

3. Frank suggests the $1.9 Trillion in stimulus favors Democrats’ pet projects. Truth-in fact, it delivers help for our American citizens who are suffering from the missteps of the previous administration’s denial of the pandemic.

4. Frank suggests that American people don’t want to work. Truth-Americans are suffering through no fault of their own. It is ludicrous to think that our people don’t want to work because they are being helped by the government during these hard times. Throughout history both political parties, when in power, have stepped up to help during difficult times.

5. Prices are inflating. Once again throughout history, inflation comes along due to many factors no matter which administration is in office.

6. It is surprising Frank brought up debt when under Trump the national debt increased by about 37% to $27 trillion in January 2020. Donald Trump built a national debt so big, even before the pandemic, that will weigh down the economy for years. The national debt has risen $7.8 trillion during Trump’s time in office.

7. Frank thinks Ford is closing a plant in Ohio and moving it to Mexico. Truth- the Ford plant in Ohio is not closing. They are sending a certain project to a plant in Mexico which has been there for a while.

Joe Biden ran on saving our Democracy that has been threatened by Trump’s “big lie.” Under his leadership, our nation is beginning to experience a sense of normalcy.
