Mystery Cattle in Muldoon Return Home

Mystery Cattle in Muldoon Return Home

There was lots of excitement on Wednesday night while looking for the owner of some cattle that were out on a country road. After a good neighbor pushed them down the road and into a pasture, phone calls were made to try and determine the owner of the cattle.

The land owner was contacted and after a search, they found no extra cattle. So, the mystery herd was still at large. Finally, a picture of the brand was produced and in the end, the cattle had actually returned home.

The owner of the cattle was thankful to those good neighbors who put the cattle back in the pasture and will be repairing the exit hole to prevent further escapes. This is how good neighbors take care of each other.

Out and About

This past weekend, Pam Sheffield’s family came to visit and help do some work around her place. Grey, Sarah, Hayley and Benjamin Holland came in from Spring to enjoy the country. Grey was able to mow, trim and clear some brush, replace some outside faucets and repair Pam’s mailbox post. He also worked on the tractor, removed some old water hoses and fixed some electrical plugs, along with other odds and ends chores.

Meanwhile, Sarah and the kids helped do some power washing on the front porch, railings, sidewalks, steps and even on the house. The kids also got involved in helping Pam shred some papers and found that shredding paperwork was fun.

The visit included a trip to Sonic for special drinks and a trip to Tractor Supply and Sutherlands for supplies. Pam was very appreciative of all the hard work her family did for her and really enjoyed their down time with lots of games and even watching a movie or two together.

Joyce Alexander joined her daughter, Julianna Wehmeyer of Burton, and granddaughter, Hallie Herman (daughter of Jennifer and Gerald Herman) of Shiner, for an adventure recently.

Hallie enrolled in the Equine Dental School at Glenns Ferry, Idaho, and got her aunt and grandmother to go along. What an adventure these ladies had. They got to go and check out the pioneer history in the area. They saw wagon tracks that were made as the wagons pushed west as they crossed the Snake River and took a slow river rafting trip down the Snake Rover, enjoying every minute of the two-hour ride.

Later, they spent three days in Yellowstone National Park. The ladies anchored in West Yellowstone, Montana, for this part of their trip. There they saw loads of buffalo, but had to go to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center there in West Yellowstone to see lots of other wild animals, including some grizzly bears. It was a wonderful memory-building trip of all three ladies.

Rain

At the time of this writing, Muldoon has seen a little rain, but not large amounts. A couple tenths fell on Wednesday and a small trace fell on Thursday morning. Promises of more have been made, but not received as of yet. The temperatures have come down out of the triple digits.

Reminder

Muldoon does have a “Little Lending Library” in front of the Muldoon Fire Station across the tracks from the Stone Store. Take time to go by and check out the book selection. Borrow a book or leave a book. This is a great resource to have in the community and everyone is welcome to come and use this wonderful resource.
