My Opinion on Opinions
To the editor:
I am sometimes informed, but mostly amused, by the Letters to the Editor in the Opinion section of the Fayette County Record. Whenever I am in doubt about current political or social issues, I can turn to the letters and find out what I am supposed to believe, and how to live my life. It makes things so much easier when I don’t have to compile any research, decipher the truth, and make up my own mind. There are a few gracious people in this county who will do all that for me, have it posted in the newspaper, and then inform me that if I don’t agree with them I must be a fascist, a racist, or some kind of nationalist (whatever that means).
For example, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., (nephew of the late president J.F.K.), issued a public statement urging people to avoid the Covid-19 “vaccine” at all costs. He stated that the “vaccine’s” mRNA technology alters genetic material in your body similar to what happens with scientifically engineered GMO foods. The mRNA genetic alteration is irreversible and irreparable. Any possible damage caused by the “vaccine” is forever. (his words, not mine) After reading that, I was scared and confused. That’s not what I have heard on television and radio. Thank goodness, all I had to do was turn to the Opinion section of the Fayette County Record to find out what to think and do. (not really)
Beyond other topics that I could find in the Fayette County Record, I wanted to make sure that I was residing in a county with likeminded people. I wanted to know that the politicians of the county served the interest of the people of the county, and that the elected officials would formulate policy to protect our inalienable rights. I contacted the Fayette County Office of Elections Administrator, and the office of the Texas Secretary of State. I obtained voting results and election data from the past decade for federal, state, and local elections held in Fayette County. The data revealed that on average, Fayette County voters cast 78% of their votes for Republican candidates, and 21% of their votes for Democrat candidates. I felt much better, and safer. I love Fayette County.
It appears that there is a concerted attack ongoing within this nation by devout communists to intimidate righteous people into denying their faith and beliefs. I think that I will do my own research and form my own opinions, before someone tries to take that right away from me. “You know the thing… free speech and all that stuff. C’mon man!”
By the way… I think Trump won.
