My COVID Thoughts
To The Editor:
It is a reality that COVID-19, and/or the government’s response to the virus, have been devastating to life and liberty as we know it. We are experiencing the biggest push for mandatory experimental injections ever known in the United States and to western democracies. Why has the debate on this important issue been shut down on the main street media and social media? Why are commentators, doctors, and scientist being “cancelled” for discussing alternative views?
I am not an anti-vaxxer, as I have had many different vaccines in my life. However, I am confused by the conflicting information released by the federal government. In particular, I refer to the mixed messages and misinformation disseminated by Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Surgeon General, the CDC, and the National Institutes of Health (not to mention the World Health Organization). How many examples of contradictory information can you remember: travel restrictions, two weeks to slow the curve, herd immunity, risks to adolescents, vaccine efficacy…?
Did you know that the CDC recalled authorization for thousands and thousands of COVID-19 PCR test kits in 2021? It was discovered that the tests could not distinguish the COVID-19 virus from the influenza virus and other corona viruses. This resulted in every positive test (even the false positives) being labeled as COVID-19. In fact, according to the CDC website data, influenza all but disappeared in 2020. Reported flu deaths dropped 97 percent that year. At the same time, reported COVID-19 deaths had a rapid increase (even with the questionable data collection methods.) That’s amazing. Really?
I am certainly not detracting from anyone’s pain and suffering from the maladies caused by this mysterious virus that originated in China. Yet, the media has been stoking fear and panic with headlines declaring that hospitals are at or near full capacity. Reading further down the story, we learn that there are numerous empty beds in the hospitals, but the hospitals lack the staff and nurses to attend the beds. At the same time, the medical facilities are firing employees that refuse the vaccine. So what is the real status of hospital capacity, and what is the real cause of limited capacity? What do the doctors and nurses refusing the vaccine at the peril of losing their jobs know that we do not know?
The political elite issue mandates to lock us down physically, psychologically, and economically. They require us to wear masks indoors and out, and limit the number of people that may congregate for weddings, funerals, and life celebrations. Vaccine passports resemble tyrannical history from the past: “Show me your papers!”
Meanwhile, the political elite ignore their own mandates and travel about unfettered. They flaunt their privilege as they visit restaurants and salons, and attend large galas and festivals. They do so mask-less and without social distancing. The elites’ “rules for thee, but not for me” undermines equal justice for all. “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche” (let the peasants eat bread). Those words did not end well in 18th century France. Today, we see tyranny being opposed worldwide. Rallies are growing in strength in the U.S., Canada, England, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy and many other countries. If the “COVID” decrees and mandates are so critical for public safety, then why do they not apply to the politico?
It is an inalienable right that individuals are allowed to evaluate their own risks, and make their own decision regarding their health and medical treatment. Millions worldwide have accepted the vaccination with little or no side effects. Others have suffered harm ranging from temporary maladies to death. The CDC has changed the definition of “vaccine” and “vaccination” three times to include the evolving mRNA injection. An informed decision involves more than listening to corrupt politicians and pharmaceutical companies, and colluding media. Open debate should be encouraged. So why is it being censored?
