Municipal Elections of 2021 Will be Here Before You Know It

Municipal elections are scheduled to take place Saturday, May. 1. Several important dates are approaching for those interested in running for election.

This first day to file an application for a place on the ballot is Wednesday, Jan. 13. That day is also the first day to file a declaration of write-in candidacy. The deadline to file an application for a place on the ballot is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12. The last day to declare a write-in candidacy is Tuesday, Feb. 16. The last day for a candidate to withdraw a place on the ballot is Friday, Feb. 19 by 5 p.m.

Early voting will run from Monday, April 19 to Tuesday, April 27. Extended early voting hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. will be on April 16 and April 26. Election Day is May 1.

City of La Grange

• City Council Member Ward 1 - incumbent Ken Taylor

• City Council Member Ward 2 - incumbent John “Honza” Cernosek

• City Council Member Ward 3 - incumbent Bonnie Busch

• City Council Member Ward 4 - incumbent Pat Janca

City of Schulenburg

• Mayor - incumbent Elaine Kocian

• Alderman Place 1 - incumbent Chip Bubela

• Alderman Place 2 - incumbent Wendy Fietsam

City of Flatonia

• City Council Member - incumbent Dennis Geesaman
