Muldoon Residents Staying in Touch, While Still Social Distancing
Roberta and Milton Gullick visited La Grange to congratulate their granddaughter Alyssa Liccioni for making the La Grange Junior Varsity Cheerleading team at La Grange High School. Alyssa will be a freshman in the fall when school resumes. Roberta and Milton did follow all the social distancing rules while out and about.
Out And About
Dana and Darrell Kulak did have a visitor. Dana’s mom, Virginia Tappe, who had been staying by herself in her home came for a few days and needed some socialization. They enjoyed a short visit before Virginia returned home.
Porch Observations
Following the lifting of some of the Covid-19 restrictions there was a marked increase in traffic traveling in the Muldoon area. With the increase in traffic there also has been an increase in animals, specifically hogs, being hit on the roadways. During the slower time the hogs had gotten very used to crossing the roads, had increased their movement and now they are getting hit by the local traffic.
The most activity in the area seems to be those baling hay, fertilizing fields, spraying weeds, gardening and the always needed fence mending/ building. These activities have not changed with all the restrictions. In fact, even more might be getting done to the having to stay home on the place.
Rain
The Muldoon area did get some rain this past week. Around an inch fell bringing some much needed spring moisture. Temperatures have ranged from around the ninety degree mark on the thermometer before a front came through to more normal May temps in the eighties. These spring rains has brought on some of the cactus flowers and have made for a very pretty display of color.
Neighborhood Watch
During these strange times be sure and check on your neighbors. Restrictions have been loosened, but senior members of the community still need to be very cautious. Give your senior neighbor a call and make sure they are OK. This not only will help make sure they are safe, but also will help them feel some social interaction that they have not been experiencing.
Also be on the alert for out of place vehicles. If you see a strange vehicle acting out of the ordinary take note of the details of the vehicle and license plate if possible along with the date and time. Call that neighbor who owns the property in that area to see if someone is supposed to be there and if not contact the sheriff’s office to let them check it out. We all need to watch out for each other to keep Muldoon safe.
