The Moreau I Know
Letters to the Editor
To the Editor:
I first met Craig Moreau after a tornado came through our property. I live outside the Warda community.
After the tornado I saw a man waiting outside our cattle guard looking around. Mr. Moreau had come to assess any damages to people or property from the storm. When asked if he wanted to see what took place, he took the time to drive to the back property and review the damages. A few days later Mr. Moreau returned to our house with homemade cookies that his kids made saying that he and his family were praying for us. What a gentleman.
In follow-up visits I met his wife and kids who recognized me before I knew who they were. I would see Moreau at church worshiping or Feed the Need helping and getting to know his community. He attended the recent school board meeting where Monarch, a California company, wanted to build a hydrogen plant in Fayette County. Moreau brought up fire implications to the county, something no one else thought of because of his abilities and background.
Moreau’s actions show his concern for the people in our community and our county. We have taken a big loss that Moreau was not voted in as County Judge and now fired Jan. 1, 2023, by Mueller. Dan Mueller’s actions show his character and of things to come.
