A Message from the CEO
As the new CEO of St. Mark’s Medical Center, I am humbled to have this tremendous opportunity to serve your community. I recently moved to La Grange from Murphy, NC, where I was the CEO of a 57-bed rural community hospital.
My goal here is to provide our region with more access to exceptional healthcare, closer to home. We will do this by building community awareness of services and support, open up access with primary care and specialty services, and focus on service excellence. I feel fortunate and excited to help shape the future of healthcare in this vibrant region.
Since its inception, St. Mark’s has attracted and retained dedicated clinicians and staff who are committed to providing quality care. It is my highest priority to work closely with medical staff, hospital employees, and community members to provide excellent care and unparalleled compassion for our patients.
At St Mark’s, we value the trust our community has had in us over the years. We were delighted to learn from our 2019 community survey, for example, that the majority of respondents prefer St Mark’s as their care provider. While our focus much of this year has been on the pandemic, we are also working to improve our services on many levels. Please know that St Mark’s is here for you as we adjust to a new normal. We are living through stressful times. Accessing health care should not be.
Here are some things you should know.
The Hospital is Safe: Our Emergency Department, imaging, lab, and all patient service areas remain clean and available for you. Emergency services are available 24/7, and elective surgeries and procedures continue to be scheduled. Our professional environmental services team thoroughly cleans every area of the hospital regularly, adhering to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
We have the necessary personal protective equipment for patients and staff Patients with COVID-19 symptoms are cared for in separate areas of the hospital.
Do not delay care. Delaying care can be harmful for you.
We are here to serve your healthcare needs. Our hospital is vital to our community and we look for your support. I am excited to lead efforts to better accommodate the medical needs of our community. The bottom line is that St Mark’s will continue to listen to residents about ways that we can continue to improve patients’ lives and build healthier communities.
I look forward to serving you in the years ahead.
