Lights of Tejas Canceled this Year

Lights of Tejas Canceled this Year

One thing I’m certain that we can all agree on, is that this year has been quite different, to say the least. One thing that will be a bit different this year is that Tejas Camp and Retreat Center will not be doing their traditional “Lights of Tejas” event. However, you will have the opportunity to enjoy many of the things you have come to love about attending Camp Tejas during the holidays.

This year, Tejas will be hosting “Thanksgiving at Tejas” and “Christmas at Tejas” events. These are overnight stays that will allow your family a great getaway experience.

Thanksgiving at Tejas will be Nov. 27 through 29. This is a two-night stay.

Christmas at Tejas will be Dec. 18 through 22 and is a onenight stay.

Both the Thanksgiving and Christmas Getaways will include Christmas tree lighting, a Christmas light tunnel, bounce houses, tower/zip line, child’s zip line, hiking, bazooka ball, archery tag, skyline swing, rock wall, a hayride, meals and hot cocoa.

Executive Director Paul Biles says, “The smaller crowds will create a more relaxing environment to be able to spend time together as a family.” Arrangements for booking these events can be found at mytejas.org.

Pork Steak Fundraiser

The pork steak dinner benefit for Amy Wagner is Sunday, Nov. 15. If you purchased tickets, drive-thru pick up will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross picnic grounds.

The Ladies Aid of Holy Cross will also have a dessert table offering whole desserts for a free-will donation. All of the proceeds go to Amy’s fund to help pay medical expenses. If you’d like to bake something to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Baked goods can be brought by the dessert table on Sunday morning before church. If you need to drop off earlier than that, please contact Rhonda Hentschel at (979) 250-3437.

If you have any questions, please contact Cyndy Zoch at (979) 966-3166. You can also purchase raffle tickets. They are $10 each or six for $50.

Couples Club Fundraiser

The Couples Club will have their BBQ chicken fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 22. Chickens are $9 each and 16-oz. cups of sauce are $2 each. Drive-thru pick up will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Holy Cross picnic grounds. Advance orders only.
