Biden’s Speech Problematic
To The Editor: The writer of the speech delivered by Biden Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 obviously is not a knowledgeable student of the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution.
The Declaration of Independence outlines the moral vision of the Founders and the course for future government. The most important line, “We hold these truths to be selfevident.”
These “truths” refer to the recognition of “higher law of right and wrong” from which human law should be derived. “All men are created equal…” We are not legislated equal. Moral reasoning, which is accessible to all, is the foundation of our political system, not political will. Government was instituted to protect our rights. The means government requires “our consent.”
The power the people give to the government is limited and enumerated in the Constitution. Three branches of government were establishedlegislative, executive, and judicial-with checks and balances to keep each branch from abusing its specific power.
The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution rest on firm moral foundations, addressing mankind’s most basic political questions and articulate the first principles of political organization transcending time and technology.
Government officials must respect their oath of office and “we, the people.” must be vigilant to see that they do. The Founders drafted an “extraordinarily thoughtful plan of government” but it is up to each generation to protect it.
Biden’s administration and Democrats feel threatened by Trump and Republicans who support him, but neither Trump nor those who support him represent a threat to our republic.
By refusing to acknowledge or explain the irregularities that occurred during the 2020 elections, the Biden Administration has demonstrated NO respect for the Constitution or the rule of law and continues to persistently vilify those looking for answers.
Biden and his party affiliations, are not interested in “mediation of differences.” Biden’s party has embraced “lies for power,” ignorance and abuse of Constitutional authority, deception, and chaos. The Biden administration offers not hope.
Biden’s policies will not improve our economy, infrastructure, make America safer, improve healthcare, or save the planet!
I propose the solution to critical race theory is “Do to others what you would have them do to you.”
Every voter must assess the candidate they vote for and vote for those who best express integrity and policy that promotes freedom.
