La Grange Police Respond to Animal Complaints
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Oct. 4-11.
Accident
On Oct. 5, Patrolman Justin Koehne spoke with complainant in the 100 block of E. Colorado in regard to her son being involved in an accident with a motor vehicle.
On Oct. 9, Patrolman John Wostarek responded to the 400 block of E. Travis and spoke with individual who advised her vehicle had been backed into. A blue form was issued.
Animal Complaint
On Oct 4, Patrolman Kevin Currington spoke with a subject about a squirrel problem in the 500 block of W. Lower Line and advised him of his options.
On Oct. 4, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 1800 block of E. State Highway 71 Business near Whataburger for a loose beige dog last seen in the area. Officer was unable to locate.
On Oct. 6, Chief David Gilbreath spoke with individual in the 2600 block of Cozy Lane who advised of an injured buzzard on the side of the road and requested animal control to respond to scene.
On Oct. 10, Koehne responded to the 600 block of N. College where complainant advised that the neighbor’s dog keeps damaging the fence between them. Officer spoke to the neighbor about the issue.
Alarm
On Oct. 5, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 500 block of E. Travis for an alarm going off. Officer checked the building and found no signs of forced entry and building was secure.
On Oct. 8, Zwahr responded to the 100 block of Rose Mayer Loop for an alarm.
Citizen Assist
On Oct. 5, Meinardus responded to the 2200 block of Valentine where a caller stated that a sewer line was clogged and was backing up into his yard and if left alone it would begin entering his home. Officer contacted city utilities that sent out someone to check the issue.
On Oct. 6, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison for a noise complaint regarding the apartment above the complainant. Officer checked the location and everything was quiet. Officer spoke to the subject and advised him to speak to the apartment manager regarding the incident.
Civil Matter
On Oct. 5, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Vail in regard to a civil matter.
On Oct. 5, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Travis in regard to a civil matter.
On Oct. 6, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell spoke to a subject in the 1000 block of N. Madison in regard to a civil matter.
Family Violence
On Oct. 11, Wostarek was dispatched to a disturbance in the 500 block of W. Lower Line. Officer arrived on location and spoke with both parties and took information for an incident report and subjects were separated for the night.
Fraud
On Oct. 10, Emmons was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Fannin and spoke with complainant that had been scammed over the phone. Complainant was given an opportunity to make an offense report but refused.
Parking Violation
On Oct. 10, Emmons responded to the 400 block of W. Fairgrounds Road where complainant rented the banquet hall for a bridal reception. The complainant advised that the spectators from the baseball tournament were parking in front of the hall. The complainant was advised there were no designated parking assigned so no law could be enforced.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Oct. 4, Currington was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Travis to check on a subject on the side of the road. Subject had lost skateboard in drain so officer assisted subject to get skateboard.
On Oct. 4, Currington responded to the 300 block of E. Fannin to check for suspicious subjects. Subjects were gone upon officer’s arrival.
On Oct. 7, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Brown in reference to a vehicle doing donuts in the parking lot. Officer arrived and the vehicle was already gone.
On Oct. 10, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1100 block of Carroll Lane for a suspicious vehicle at the complainant’s parents house. It was determined that the vehicle belonged to a neighbor.
On Oct. 10, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of S. Brown for a Hispanic female sitting outside the store and looking in the window. Officer upon arrival found no one at the store and the door was locked.
Terrorist Threat
On Oct. 4, Patrolman David Mohr responded to the 1200 block of E. Eblin to meet with a complainant. Officer took report.
Verbal Dispute
On Oct. 11, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe where caller stated that an individual he allowed to stay in his garage for a night was refusing to leave.
Officer spoke to the subject who had left the location and told him to stay away from the location.
Welfare Check
On Oct. 4, Currington responded to One St. Mark’s Place to check on a subject. Officer gave the subject a ride to a local hotel.
