La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following activities his department responded to during the week of Aug. 16-23

Agency Assist

On Aug. 20, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call from the Smithville Police Department to assist in locating an individual in the 500 block of E. Fannin.

Animal Complaint

On Aug. 21, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1200 block of N. Jefferson in reference to an ongoing animal dispute. Officer took information.

Abandoned Vehicle

On Aug. 18, Patrolman Brian Adams tagged a vehicle parked in the 400 block of N. Main on a side street for an extended length of time. The vehicle was also parked facing traffic. Officer notified owner of the vehicle who stated that he moved it every few days. Officer advised owner to move it into his driveway.

Accident

On Aug. 16, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to a two-vehicle accident. Officer issued each driver a blue form and both drivers exchanged information.

On Aug. 21, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 800 block of S. Jefferson where a vehicle struck a utility pole and fled the scene. Utility department was notified.

Criminal Mischief

On Aug. 17, Patrolman Cari Haman while investigating a case in the 1600 block of E. State Highway 71 was informed by a property owner of damage to his property.

Civil Matter

On Aug. 16, Patrolman Brett Meinardus was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Guadalupe where caller believes that her neighbor moved a survey stake that was placed to mark the boundary of her property and to build a fence on her property. Officer advised her to contact the justice of the peace due to the civil nature of the incident.

On Aug. 20, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of E. Pearl where complainant stated that she gave an individual some money after they agreed he would do some yard work for her. She stated the subject never returned and did not do the yard work. Complainant wanted her money back. Officer advised her to contact the JP.

On Aug. 22, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Neely to a civil matter. Officer advised subject of their options.

Citizen Assist

On Aug. 17, Patrolman Carl Zwahr spoke with a caller in regard to a possible registration violation. Officer directed caller to the correct authority.

On Aug. 17, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a shots fired in the area of 300 W. Pearl. It was determined to be a transformer blowing out on a power line. Officer contacted city utilities.

Disorderly Conduct

On Aug. 21, Mohr received a call of a noise complaint in the 100 block of E. Guy. Officer arrived and met with owner to have noise stopped.

Driving While Intoxicated

On Aug. 22, Zwahr responded to a road rage incident in the 100 block of N. Jefferson. Vehicles were located and subject was arrested.

Family Violence

On Aug. 19, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Fannin in regard to a disturbance. Officer arrived on location and spoke with caller. Subject was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.

Harassment

On Aug. 16, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to a male subject harassing an employee. The subject was gone prior to officer’s arrival.

Lost/Stolen

On Aug. 20, Meinardus responded to the 1900 block of State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that she lost her iPad in Walmart. Officer upon arrival reviewed the security footage but was unable to locate where the iPad was placed or if it was taken.

Reckless Driving

On Aug. 18, Adams spoke with complainant in the 2400 block of Strixner Road who advised of neighbors riding ATV’s on the roadway and her property. Officer advised her to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office because the residence is out of the city limits. Officer also passed complaint on to the highway patrol.

Suspicious Person

On Aug. 18, Zwahr responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 700 block of E. Guadalupe. Officer spoke with the subject who left the location.

On Aug. 20, Wostarek responded to the 300 block of N. Jackson where caller advised someone hit his window. Officer arrived on location and searched the area. Officer was unable to locate anyone in the area.

Theft

On Aug. 18, Mohr received a call of theft of political signs from a yard in the 100 block of E. Pearl. Officer took report.

On Aug. 19, Meinardus spoke with an employee of a store in the 1000 block of Highway 159 for a subject possibly taking a bottle of wine. On Aug. 20, Wostarek took

On Aug. 20, Wostarek took information on an attempted theft in the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.

Trespassing

On Aug. 21, Mohr received a call of several people on the railroad track in the 100 block of E. Lindert. Upon arrival officer found one subject walking away from the track.

Verbal Dispute

On Aug. 20, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Madison in regard to a possible disturbance. Caller stated that the neighbors above him were arguing. Officer met with the resident who advised officer that no disturbance took place and that all was fine.

On Aug. 22, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis for a customer upset with water machine that took their money.
