La Grange Police Officer Relocates Snake Caught In Hotel Pool
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 1-8.
Animal Complaint
On Aug. 1, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell spoke with a caller in the 700 block of W. Travis about an animal complaint.
On Aug. 2, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr received an animal call from the 900 block of E. Guadalupe to pick up an animal and take the animal to the shelter.
On Aug. 7, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a large snake at the pool in the 600 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass. Officer arrived and caught the snake and relocated it.
On Aug. 8, Zwahr picked up two dogs from the Walmart parking lot in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. The animals were taken to the shelter.
Alarm
On Aug. 1, Patrolman Brett Meinardus was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Colorado for an alarm going off. Officer found the building was secure and no one appeared to be inside.
On Aug. 1, Meinardus was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis for a burglary alarm. Officer found the building was secure.
On Aug. 6, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Colorado for an alarm. Officer found the building was secure and set off by an employee by mistake.
Accident
On Aug. 1, Meinardus responded to the 400 block of E. Travis for a two-vehicle accident. No injuries and subjects exchanged information.
On Aug. 1, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of S. Jefferson for a two-vehicle accident. No injuries and subjects exchanged information.
On Aug. 2, Currington was dispatched to the Hermes Elementary school parking lot in the 600 block of E. Milam for an accident.
On Aug. 3, Currington was dispatched to the 1200 block of N. Von Minden for an accident in the parking lot. Officer arrived and subjects had already handled it between themselves and were no longer on scene.
Agency Assist
On Aug. 3, Mohr assisted the Sheriff’s Department with locating a missing dog in the 300 block of N. Monroe.
Burglary of Habitation
On Aug. 1, Meinardus was notified that a storage unit had been broken into in the 1600 block of State Highway 71 Bypass. Officer gathered information and was later notified it was the wrong storage unit and that no burglary had occurred. Property owner is verifying but believes owners moved property out.
Citizen Assist
On Aug. 5, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Von Minden in regard to a citizen assist.
On Aug. 6, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Travis in regard to a citizen assist.
On Aug. 7, Currington assisted a subject in the 1600 block of N. Jefferson with the location of her vehicle.
Disorderly Conduct
On Aug. 6, Mohr received a call of an argument with a patron in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Upon officer’s arrival the party had already left.
On Aug. 7, Mohr received a call of an employee out of control in the 900 block of S. Jefferson. Officer arrived and escorted employee off the premises.
On Aug. 7, Mohr responded to the 500 block of N. Franklin for a subject yelling on the street. The officer was unable to locate.
Disturbance
On Aug. 2, Mohr received a call of a verbal disturbance in the 900 block of E. Guadalupe.
Fraud
On Aug. 6, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Pearl for a report of fraud. Officer took information for report.
Harassment
On Aug. 1, Maxwell spoke with a subject in regard to harassment in the 1000 block of N. Franklin.
Suspicious Person
On Aug. 2, Mohr received a call of a possibly intoxicated person in the 2300 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer arrived and found the person was sober.
On Aug. 5, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to a suspicious person.
On Aug. 6, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person in the 1900 block of Highway 159. Officer found it was an employee of a business in the area.
On Aug. 6, Mohr received a call of a suspicious person knocking at a door in the 400 block of N. Main. Officer arrived and located the subject.
On Aug. 7, Mohr received a call of a subject lying on the side of the road in the 1100 block of N. Jefferson. Officer arrived and found it was a subject working on his truck.
Theft
On Aug. 1, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Von Minden in regard to a theft.
On Aug. 3, Mohr received a call of a theft in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
On Aug. 6, Mohr received a call of a possible stolen cell phone in the 400 block of N. Jefferson. The complainant located the cell phone.
Terroristic Threat
On Aug. 4, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Travis in regard to a threat made by an employee.
Threat
On Aug. 2, Zwahr responded to E. Lafayette and N. Jackson in regard to a threat.
Trespassing
On Aug. 4, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of N. Washington where complainant requested a criminal trespass warning be issued to a subject for the complainant’s office. Officer issued the subject a criminal trespass warning.
Welfare Check
On Aug. 1, Meinardus responded to the 1200 block of E. Eblin for a welfare check. Officer went to the location and could not find anyone.
On Aug. 3, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of Highway 71 Business for a welfare concern on an elderly male driving a red Ford Edge heading east on Highway 71. Officer checked the area and did not locate the subject.
