La Grange Police Department Responds to Several Theft Calls
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 27 through Oct. 4.
Theft
On Sept. 28, Zwahr was dispatched to the 600 block of N. College and took information in regard to a possible theft.
On Sept. 28, Mohr received a call of a possible theft in the 600 block of W. Travis. Officer arrived and found that the machine was broke and had not been burglarized.
On Sept. 29, Currington met with complainant in the 400 block of N. Jefferson and took a theft report of a bicycle.
On Sept. 30, Emmons was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter off the victim’s vehicle.
On Sept. 30, Maxwell spoke with complainant in regard to a theft in the 600 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass feeder road.
On Oct. 2, Mohr received a call of a stolen wallet in the 200 block of E. Travis. Officer took report.
Alarm
On Sept. 28, Patrolman David Mohr while on routine patrol heard an audible burglary alarm in the 500 block of E. Travis for a business. Officer arrived, checked property and an employee set off alarm.
On Sept. 30, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 100 block of W. Colorado for a hold up alarm. The security company was working on the alarm system.
On Sept. 30, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Travis. Officer arrived on location and found the building to be secure.
On Sept. 30, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business to an alarm. Officer made contact with an employee of the business who advised that all was fine.
On Oct 1, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Colorado to an alarm and upon arrival found all secure.
Accident
On Oct. 2, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call in regard to a two-vehicle accident in the 400 block of W Travis.
On Oct. 3, Emmons responded to a two car minor accident in the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 Bypass Feeder Road.
Animal Complaint
On Sept. 28, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager put five cows back in the pasture in the 100 block of E. State Highway 71 Business.
On Sept. 28, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 1200 block of E. Eblin to an animal complaint. Officer issued a citation.
Oct. 2, Mohr received a call of loose dogs in the area of the hospital around Von Minden. Officer was unable to locate them.
Oct. 3, Anderson received a call for an abandoned dog in the 300 block of Fireside. Upon arrival it was found that the dog had gotten loose and the owner was looking for it when police arrived. The dog was returned to the owner and the call cleared.
Civil Matter
Oct. 2, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 400 block of Travis for a civil matter between two subjects. Both parties were separated upon arrival. No offense occurred.
Citizen Assist
On Sept. 27, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with an individual from the hospital that requested a ride to Giddings from the hospital. Officer advised that he could not give the subject a ride and advised him to wait until morning and attempt to contact someone.
On Sept. 28, Anderson spoke with complainant in regard to his neighbors making noise in the 1000 block of N. Madison. Complainant wanted to report that they bother him constantly during the night. Officer advised complainant that he would drive thru later during his shift when this allegedly occurs.
On Sept. 28, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison in reference to upstairs neighbors being too loud. Officer checked the area and did not hear any noise coming from the upstairs apartment.
Oct. 3, Emmons received call from an individual that wanted to know what the cameras in the 200 block of Travis were for.
City Ordinance Violation
On Sept. 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Madison in regard to illegal burning. Officer made contact with the homeowner and had the homeowner put the fire out.
On Sept. 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of FM 609 in regard to a noise complaint. Officer arrived on location but the music had been turned off prior to officer’s arrival.
Disorderly Conduct
On Sept. 28, Anderson responded to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a belligerent patient who was refusing to comply with staff. Upon arrival officer was informed things had calmed down and that he was no longer needed.
Oct. 3, Zwahr spoke with a caller in regard to a noise complaint. Officer searched the area but couldn’t hear any noise.
Oct. 3, Anderson received a call in regard to people yelling racial slurs at her in the 200 block of Northpointe as they were driving by her residence.
Oct. 3, Anderson received a complaint from an individual about the conduct of a group that came through Northpointe in the 200 block of Northpointe yelling racial slurs.
Oct. 3, Anderson received a call to contact complainant in the 500 block of N. Madison in regard to vehicles honking their horns and playing loud music and spinning tires and people yelling.
Property Damage
On Sept. 27, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of Northwest Circle in regard to someone driving through the grass on the property.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Sept. 29, Zwahr responded to the 900 block of S. Jefferson in regard to caller reporting that someone kept knocking on the doors of the facility. Officer searched the area but found no suspicious person near the facility.
On Sept. 30, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of E Travis in regard to a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle had left prior to officer’s arrival.
Oct. 1, Patrolman Justin Koehne responded to the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a suspicious vehicle parked on the west side of the building. Units checked the area but vehicle was gone upon arrival.
Family Violence
On Sept. 28, Zwahr responded to an assault in the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Subject was arrested and transported to Fayette County jail.
Trespassing
On Sept. 28, Mohr received a call of three people dancing on the railroad tracks on Eblin
Verbal Dispute
On Sept. 28, Zwahr responded to a call of two subjects walking down the road arguing in the 200 block of E. Pecan. Officer upon arrival spoke with subjects that stated it was only verbal.
On Sept. 29, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Fannin for a possible disturbance. It was verbal only and subject was gone upon arrival.
Oct. 1, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 71 Business in regard to a verbal dispute. Caller advised she was being accused of stealing political signs.
Oct. 4, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Lower Line for a possible disturbance. Officer made contact with subjects that advised it was verbal only.
Welfare Check
On Sept. 29, Anderson received a call to check on the welfare of a 12-year-old child sitting out in front of a residence in the 600 block of E. Milam where he once resided. Complainant stated that the residence is vacant and she was concerned.
On Sept. 30, Meinardus responded to the 400 block of S. Ellinger for a possible disturbance. Officer found subject was moving and they were laughing and joking loudly. Subject advised there was not a disturbance.
Oct. 2, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Live Oak for possible screaming. Officer upon arrival checked location and could not locate a screaming person.
Oct. 3, Anderson received a call in regard to a white male laying on the side of the roadway in the 1500 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
