Kudos to Janecka, Kimball

To the Editor:

I’d like to thank the former Fayette County Judge Ed Janecka for his comments to the commissioner’s court on COVID vaccinations in the county. I’d also like to thank the FCR and St. Mark’s CEO Mark Kimball for the article on the impacts of this surge on our local hospital/community and for running it on the front-page-above-the-fold in Tuesday’s paper. It’s great to have local leaders (present and former) speak up on this topic in an effort to get vaccination levels up in Fayette County.

However, I’d like to know what our current elected leaders are doing to help get vaccination rates up and make schools safe for our children as they return this week? It would be nice to hear them speaking up on this public safety topic as the Delta variant has significantly more impact among the youth.
