Kudos to Cernosek

To the Editor:

I want to thank Mr. Cernosek for his letter to the Record last Friday and thank the Editor for publishing it. His questions highlighted many concerns every citizen of the U.S. should be thinking about.

I appreciate his answer for the current state of Union— lack of reverence, respect and knowledge of God and His Word, the Bible.

Mankind has been given the opportunity to choose to accept or reject God’s Word. I think we are seeing what rejection of God’s word looks like. Without understanding and appreciation for the lessons provided in the Bible, humanity is not prepared for life’s many challenges. “God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7) Too many people believe they can ignore their creator and solve the problems humanity has created. Many people are being intimidated and bullied. Fear, arrogance, and self-pity have captured their thinking to the point of compromising truth.

Biblical principles cannot be applied or instructions followed if you do not know them. The Christian life starts with accepting the gospel message in John 3:16.
