Kudos to Abbott

To the Editor:

In regards to the letter in last week’s paper about Gov. Abbott’s directive to investigate state agencies for child abuse, which includes Department Of Family And Protective Services, for supporting and or promoting gender affirming services for children, I say, “kudos” to Gov. Abbott.

It is hard to convince, even in this day and time, that so many children now think they are the wrong sex. Children typically do not worry with these issues, unless these issues are pushed upon them.

I understand our brains do not quit maturing until mid to late 20’s. If the person at this age feels the need to change, then as an adult, they should have that right. I look at these issues via of morality through religion, and have totally different opinions about this, but people do have the right.

I am not a doctor, nor a politician, but for anyone that thinks a “child” should be supported and encouraged to follow through on these premature, most likely promoted ideas of changing one’s sex, to hear that our governor is overseeing these agencies makes this writer very happy. Maybe he should also check into the parents.
